Mapping Isoforms to a Base form/canonical identifiers

The intention of this mapping was to verify whether the discrepancies among multiple sources when acquiring interactions from publications was the use of different isoforms of a protein. The study first maps all the proteins to a canonical or a base form of that protein and recalculates the RIGIDs and then perform a comparison with originally calculated RIGIDs. The different methods used for this are explained below.

Methods used for mapping

  1. . Use of isoform annotations from UniProt (i.e. P15455-2 and P15455-1 would be mapped to P15455).
