Some notes about the status of Bioscape in September 2009.
Changes Since 2008
- Reorganised the code base and database schema to better support a wider range of data types in a consistent fashion
- Added support for the Xapian text indexing solution
- Deployed a production service exposing PubMed and BioCreative #2 gene normalisation data
- Added support for parallel builds of the database, testing on an 8-core system
- Added better visualisation, especially for "contextual" information
- Introduced support for authors and navigation of documents related by author
